Yes, we provide certified ASTM/SEI helmets for all of our students. We have many sizes so we can accurately fit everyone’s head. Safety is number one for everyone here at the ranch, before each ride we will inspect each of the helmets.
Yes, you may bring your own IF it is specifically a horse back riding helmet AND it is certified ASTM/SEI.
Footwear- closed toe shoes (preferably boots) and no moccasins/ballet flats. Absolutely NO sandals of any kind permitted for anyone handling or riding the horses.
Clothing- Jeans/pants/breeches. We will not allow anyone to ride if they are in a skirt or shorts. This is a safety concern while riding.
All other clothing must be appropriate (no half shirts, no bathing suits, nothing see through, etc)
You may NOT leave the premises during a lesson/session. Due to liability reasons this will not be permitted.
The horses will never complain about this! They love peppermints, apples, carrots and horse treats bought at the store! We do ask that you ask permission before feeding our horses as some may be on a diet and we want to make sure everyone’s fingers don’t get accidentally munched on. The horses can not tell the difference between our fingers and carrots at times and they are not trying to hurt anyone.
*Always ask the leader/instructor you're with before feeding the horses as some of them are on special diets*
Yes, our horses are seen by our vet every spring before riding season starts to receive all of their required vaccinations and paperwork.
Yes, we do carry a liability insurance policy that is required by NYS for all riding/therapy facilities.
You will be required to fill out our liability release form for you AND the youth attending.
Why do we require it for yourself?
You will be around the horses. Horses are 1200 pound animals that do have their own brains and are fight/flight animals naturally. Our horses are very well trained and we would never put someone intentionally in a situation that they would get hurt in. We can not make any promises to the complete safety of everyone at the ranch. We will however ensure we do everything in our power to keep everyone as safe as possible.
We accept: cash, check, or PayPal.
Yes, we allow photos to be taken during lessons/sessions.
Yes, we do take photos, especially during summer camps.
Yes, sometimes we do post photos online, if you do NOT want photos online of you or your child, please make sure you select that option when filling out our liability release form AND tell us in person.
Yes, you may post your own photos online as long as they are positive to everyone in them.
We require 24 hrs notice for cancellations. Lessons/sessions notified before the 24hr mark that have been prepaid will be rescheduled at no additional charge.
Any cancellations after the 24hr mark and are not due to major life events (ie: sickness, death, car accidents, etc) will NOT be refunded.
If your lesson/session is cancelled due to weather related events, you will be rescheduled or the Credit can go to another lesson.
